51 MM MORTAR BOMB HE
The Mortar is usually a smooth bore, muzzle loaded weapon & fires a Fin-stabilized Bomb at a low muzzle velocity. Normally employed for high angle fire & is supported on a comparatively simple mounting. Due to its lightness & mobility, it is very useful in its tactical role. It is area weapon & because of its high rate of fire, delivers a large volume of fire at the target area in a short time.
