1801 Gun Carriage Agency at Cossipore, Kolkata (presently known as Gun & Shell Factory, Cossipore) was eatablished and production started from 18th March, 1802.
1869 Ammunition Factory Khadki came into being on 16th December 1869 as a Small Arms manufacturing unit.
1904 Cordite Factory, Aruvankadu is located in the hilly region of Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1904.
1940 High Explosives Factory, Khadki Pune for which foundation stone was laid on 11th January 1940 and commened production from 1942
1942 Ordnance Factory Khamaria was set up in the year 1943 during World War II as one of the Eastern Group Projects to meet the requirements of Ammunition for Allied Forces.
1964 The Ordnance Factory Chanda Project was sanctioned in the year 1964 and the initial production commenced in 1970
1964 OFV was established in 1964 immediately after Chinese aggression mainly for undertaking the manufacture of 7.62mm ammunition to replace 0.303” cartridges which acts the primary ammunition of Indian Army till then
1980 The factory was initially established in the late 1980s as a unit of Defence Research and Development Organisation in collaboration with other government defence agencies and some foreign partners. After full scale development of the product was completed, the factory was handed over to Ordnance Factories Board
1984 Ordnance Fatory Badmal - foundation stone of this Factory was laid on October 29th 1984
2001 Ordnance Factory Nalanda Project was sanctioned on 29.11.2001 with an aim for establishing modern technology in the field of propellant manufacture of Bi-Modular propellant for 155mm Artillery Gun
2021 MIL was established on 1st October 2021 and started it business function..
