It is a fixed type & intended for use against light armored targets, soft skinned targets and against personnel at ranges up to 4000 meters.It is also used against aircraft flying at low altitude up to Gun 2A42 through which this ammunition is fired is designed for single shot firing as well as automatic firing both at rapid and slow rates. Gun 2A42 has double belt feed system. One belt with an AP/T and the other with both HE/I and HE/T rounds generally in the ratio 4:1.
