OFBL को ओडिशा राज्य में M/s Day and Zimermann (USA), M/s Josef Meissner (Germany), M/s HAKO (Switzerland) और M/s KINTEX (Bulgaria) 
की अत्याधुनिक टेक्नोलॉजी के साथ स्थापित किया गया था। स्वर्गीय प्रधानमंत्री श्रीमती इंदिरा गांधी ने 29 अक्टूबर 1984 को इस फैक्ट्री की आधारशिला रखी थी। मध्यम और भारी कैलिबर के 
गोला-बारूद के निर्माण के लिए समर्पित एक विशाल गोला-बारूद फैक्ट्री स्थापित करने के विज़न ने ओडिशा के KBK बेल्ट के इस पिछड़े इलाके को चर्चा में ला दिया है। इस प्रोजेक्ट को 
1989 में मंज़ूरी मिली थी। यह फैक्ट्री ओडिशा के बोलांगीर ज़िले में 12,200 एकड़ में फैली हुई है, जिसमें ऐतिहासिक गंधमार्दन रेंज की पहाड़ियाँ और टीले शामिल हैं और यह महानदी 
नदी प्रणाली की दो सहायक नदियों - LANTH और TEL - से घिरी हुई है।

Shells can be used together with PD or proximity Fuzes. The shells are filled with TNT Special Grade (Set point 80.60 C) in semi-automatic plant by pour filling method.

SEMI COMBUSTIBLE CARTRIDGE CASE (SCCC)

It is used to propel Shell 125mm HE. Equipped with Primer GUV-7 which can be fired both mechanically and electrically.

51 MM MORTAR BOMB HE

The Mortar is usually a smooth bore, muzzle loaded weapon & fires a Fin-stabilized Bomb at a low muzzle velocity. Normally employed for high angle fire & is supported on a comparatively simple mounting. Due to its lightness & mobility, it is very useful in its tactical role. It is area weapon & because of its high rate of fire, delivers a large volume of fire at the target area in a short time.

SHELL 155mm HE M1A4 ERFB (BT)

Weapon : BOFORS FH77 B HOWITZER Gun End Use : Surface to Surface Anti-Personal Ammunition used for rapid & accurate firing at long ranges to attack the Ground Targets. Shells can be used together with PD or proximity Fuzes.The shells are filled with TNT Special Grade (Set point 80.60 C) in semi-automatic plant by pour filling method.
